It's never too late in the day.. to NAP

It's a dream of mine to one day study with beautiful New York teacher, Cyndi Lee. But in the meantime, whilst we are on different sides of the world, I'll just have to settle for studying her wisdom over the net : )
My dear teacher, Gelek Rimpoche, always teaches us that there are two kinds of laziness: the Eastern kind and the Western kind. The Eastern kind of laziness is people sitting on a cushion in the corner sipping tea all day. The Western kind of laziness is “Oh, I’m too busy to do that!” My practice for tomorrow is to find the middle path between these two.
I loved it when I read this on her website today. And loved it even more when I read the following post:
Jumped in a taxi yesterday just as the snowfall got heavy. Headed over to the West Side Highway and the gym at Chelsea Piers, the taxi driver asked me, “Are you going home, Miss?” ”No, I’m going…to work.” He said, “Oh, no, miss! You must go home! The snow is coming! You must go home and take a nice, warm nap.” And I thought, yes, you are absolutely right. You are the voice of reason. I asked him where he was from and he said, “Bangladesh — the people are very nice.” And I knew he was telling the truth because he was so nice. And smart. Yes, it is a good idea to take a nap on a snowy day and I did that very thing a little while later. Maybe doing that can be your yoga practice today.
So right now it's Sunday afternoon and I'm ducking off for a nap. I've finished my christmas shopping, I've taught a yoga class, and now.. it's time to slumber. See you soon and may your day be just as gorgeous as mine - whether you're in snow like Cyndi, or in the midst of a fab summer day here in Sydney : ) Namaste x
