Shiny Newsletter:: May 06

"Don’t ask what the world needs – ask what makes you come alive and then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." Howard Martin
The focus of the month in my classes during May has been PASSION - What is it that you’re passionate about? Quite often we get so caught up in the day to day of life and work, that we forget to focus on what it is that makes us passionate and alive. Take a moment this week to ask what it is that makes you glow and become excited. What have you done recently to foster that passion? Whether your passion is your yoga class, food, friends, animals or anything else, it is most important to pinpoint something in our lives that keeps us fired up. To grow as humans and partners, mothers, sons, friends and workmates, we need to grab a hold of that passion and dedicate our efforts towards it. What I’m Reading…. This month I could not put down “Eat Pray Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert which has just been released in Australia. It follows the path of an American woman/yoga student/lost soul who spends a year traveling through Italy, India and Bali trying to rediscover her own passion and reason for living. One passion of mine is reading and devouring books! Continual learning as a person, teacher, student, and work colleague is most important.
Updated timetable… There’s many new classes on my schedule so come and check one out! I teach all over Sydney nearly every day each week so check out the times and days. I also teach privates and group privates so if you’re interested, just drop me a line. Winter Warmers… Brrr it’s cold outside! Warm up with these natural therapeutic methods and immune boosters.. * Breath work and meditation can calm the body down and thus lead to reduced anxiety levels, which in turn keeps the body more healthy and less likely to succumb to colds and flu. * Ginger is my herb of choice in winter – add fresh ginger to meals, in juices, or cut up some fresh ginger root and steep in hot water.. yum! Fight off colds and get some energy! * Do some asana (postures) to help reduce the symptoms of cold and flu.
Giveaway… “Change the World for Ten Bucks” is a fab book that has little hints and tips about how each individual can make a difference to the world around them. Simple things like turning appliances off at the switch, recycling clothes, and saying hi to your neighbours. We really are what we do – so if you want to be in the running to win a copy of this book, please leave a comment on this newsletter post and let me know what you have done to ‘change the world’, big or small! Competition is only open to those on the mailing list – just sign up if you’re not already on it! Winner will be notified by return email. **Here’s hoping you have a beautiful and warm Winter – stay tuned for more updates and keep visiting the website for regular posts. Namaste, stella x
